DJ News Mag : Hello Dimix, First of all, Thank you for taking the time for Dj News Magazine... How are you today?

Dimix : I’m fine thank you, just got back home after another crazy weekend in Ibiza.

It’s a busy summer but very pleased all is going well!

DJ News Mag : For People who don’t know you yet, Can introduce you in a few words?

Dimix : Well, my name is Dimix, born and raised in Belgium.

I’m an avid traveler and a very passionate DJ & producer who’s always up for a party!

DJ News Mag : Can you explain to your readers involved in music, where did it start for you? And what or who encouraged you to become a DJ and producer in the first place?

Dimix : For me it all started since my childhood when my parents had a club where I grew up.

At a young age I helped out during holidays but quickly found my way to the DJ booth.

At that same time the dance scene exploded across Belgium with new beat & acid house. The new breed of DJ’s working the decks with a new style and creating a new generation with so much enthusiasm got me bitten by the beautiful virus of DJing Electronic Dance Music. About a year later I started to organize my own Sunday afternoons there who became legendary. Later on guesting across the country from party to party I gained myself some steady residencies in smaller and bigger clubs.

In 2003 my career took another level when I joined Icam, a Swedish agency who hosted their own arena at SDMF in Estonia. Later that year I got invited as first International Dj in Jordan/Amman & Aqaba Beach. A feeling I haven’t taste the last of.

From that moment on I was totally sold to traveling and bringing my music to people around the globe. Feeling very blessed that I have/am enjoying many amazing people/cultures/parties/venues/countries/continents/ and all the crazy times.

Dj News Mag : We know that you are not only DJ but also producer, Where do you get your inspiration to create music? and why did you choose this style of music?

Dimix : I get my inspiration to create music out of several things but mainly absorbing out of my dj sets. While locked up in the studio cut from phones and email I try to bring back that particular vibe into my own music.

I don’t try to categorize the style too much because I sprinkle a lil’ of everything and mix it all together. Good music is good music and is no just one genre.

Dj News Mag : We noticed that you have played for Privilege Ibiza World Tour and El Divino in Ibiza, Do you have to prepare your mind in a special way when getting ready for a big session or event?

Dimix : I do set a bit of direction how I open my set. But in general during any session I try to be as creative as possible and let all options for spins & tricks wide open.

You never know what to expect which makes every set sound completely different.

When circulating the sounds, creating the right atmosphere and filling the floor is when for me as a Dj the magic unfolds! It makes me go into a frenzy state of mind and that is where my real alter ego kicks in and sets the house on fire! U can find me dancing/jumping/clapping or screaming intensely at you. When you are experiencing that moment with me all elements have set place for a night to remember!

Dj News Mag : What are the must tracks for you during your set in the evening in this moment?

Dj News Mag : You have and still are playing in ibiza, a dream for every dj. Do you still have a dream as a DJ or producer? Or project for the future?

Dimix : First of all I’m very pleased that I got the opportunity to play and expand in Ibiza the last years and hope to keep doing this for many years to come.

We have new releases coming up mid September combined with the first Digital Fresh parties on tour and a new club residency starting half October. Digital Fresh will also host their monthly club residency there with a lot if international guests.

DJ News Mag : Find you also some time for your hobbies with your busy days? And if you had the time what would you do?

Dimix : Friends have tried convincing me to do something else then working all the time.

But after all these years it has become a second nature and not a hobby or work, just something I love to do and where time is not an issue to spend it on.

Dimix : I’d like to thank everyone for their big support, their dedication to the scene for the last 20 years and all their well spend holidays to Ibiza and other parties around the globe!
