DJ News Mag : First of all, where are you from? Can you introduce yourself?
Blufeld : Hi all, i'm from the South of the U.K near a city called SOUTHAMPTON... I'm a progressive trance producer that has been producing now since late 2003 /early 04 :)
DJ News Mag : Your country is really famous in different things. Is trance music or progressive really in expansion over there?
Blufeld : Yes, Its still popular...but not as popular as it was back in the early 2000 period, when trance was in its hayday. But there are still a few clubs that have progressive nights etc... for example the world famous “SLINKY” club!!
DJ News Mag : Where do you find your inspiration?
Blufeld : My inspirations are many... ranging from early electronic greats such as: Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Ultravox, Gary Numan etc... But my biggest inspiration in trance without a shadow of doubt has been M.I.K.E aka (PUSH) for me he has the exact atmospheric expression in his music that I feed off to help me create my future works. :)
DJ News Mag : You have entered definitively in the Andromeda's family this year and decided to make a full album with Di as Overflow. I had the chance to listen to your album “True Feelings” and definitely found that amazing. Can you tell us why decided you to work with Di? What did you found in her voice?
Blufeld : Well it all started with a fellow bonzai colleague called “SOVVE” who I'am very good friends with....and I saw 'Di' on her friends list.....i then went and checked out her myspace profile...listened to some samples of her work. She has a very feminine and luscious voice which I feel is perfect for my productions!
And I knew straight away that I wanted her to vocal in a track I had just written entitled: “SERENE” she got back to me from there......
which in turn led to us finding that we had something very unique in our collaboration...it was pure magic to me!!!
So we decided to start a project named “OVERFLOW” which is all about expression of love for the one dearest to you in your life. Thankyou for being the best partner!! :)
DJ News Mag : What’s your favorite track in the album?
Blufeld : “TRUE FEELINGS” and also “PUREST DREAM” because they were stunning vocals from “DI” and it made my job so easy! :)
DJ News Mag : You have a radio show aired on Odu.fm and Pure fm? Tell us more about this.
Blufeld :Well I had been requested by PURE.FM to do an exclusive show initially by the head honcho “Jerry @ PURE.FM” As he had heard my productions through promo from Bonzai Music, he said he loved my work so it went from there really. ODU.FM in turn asked if I would like a slot on their station...which was also superb. :)
The show is called “PROGMOSPHERICA SESSIONS” and is aired:
EVERY 4TH TUES @ 5PM GMT ON PURE.FM (TRANCE CHANNEL)
EVERY 2ND TUES @ 5PM GMT ON ODU.FM (ODU 1)
The show is home to a solid hour of upfront and exclusive selections of the best in atmospheric progressive trance tunes!!!
DJ News Mag : I saw also that you remixed Plastic Boy....It’s a great classic, how do you explain your diversity?
Blufeld : Well plastic Boy is an alias of my favorite all time producer that has inspired me the most, and I have loved all those early tracks from Plastic Boy. So it was really a no brainer for me to remix this massive tune. Which ended up being selected to feature on the world famous compilation series “CREAM” - 'CREAM FUTURE TRANCE'!!!!!
As regards diversity I create with my heart and the mood I feel inside at the time!! Hence I have at least 16 different alias's I produce under to express this.
DJ News Mag : What are your future projects? Any tracks or remixes in working?
Blufeld : Well actually yes I seem to have a hectic schedule lately...what with my important commitment now to our exciting OVERFLOW project... where there is already a second album in the works!!!
Also I have been working on a remix for DJ TIESTO and also will be releasing a new single shortly from my next “BLUFELD” album with an 'AIRWAVE' remix to feature on that single release also!!
There are many more releases are in the pipeline for my several alias's as well....
DJ News Mag : An artist has not to be only behind the decks... So, can you tell us what you like to do except the music?
Blufeld : Well i'm a keen mountain biker and enjoy keeping fit and active whether it be in sports or just walking. I'm a qualified graphic designer in my secular work, but I have taken a break from that of late to concentrate on seeing if I can make my musical dreams come true. Thats still work in progress!
DJ News Mag : What would you love to say to all readers?
Blufeld : Just thankyou for all the people who I know personally family, friends etc...and those of you out there that also follow my work, you know who you are!!!
Its you guys that are the reason a producer keeps going even when things get really tuff out there. So seriously a big thanks from the bottom of my heart. :)
